Range 600 - 700 µm/sec
Organism Bacteria Candidatus Ovobacter propellens

Method "Swimming cells were recorded with high-speed video (High-Speed CCD-camera, MS-1000, Mega Speed Cooperation, Minnedosa, Canada) using recording-frequencies of 192, 658, or 963 frames per second (time resolution: about 5, 1.5, and 1 ms, respectively) of swimming cells with 20× or 40× objectives and Nomarski interference microscopy."
Comments "One of the striking properties of ‘‘Ovobacter’’ was its high swimming velocity- most cells swam at a velocity of 0.6–0.7 mm/sec, and some cells swam up to 1 mm/sec (Fig. 5)."
