Average processivity of DnaB and Pol III*-β

Value 86.5 kb
Organism Bacteria Escherichia coli
Reference Yao NY, Georgescu RE, Finkelstein J, O'Donnell ME. Single-molecule analysis reveals that the lagging strand increases replisome processivity but slows replication fork progression. Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2009 Aug 11 106(32):13236-41 p.13237 right column 3rd paragraph and fig. 1CPubMed ID19666586
Method Single-molecule techniques
Comments The results show that DnaB and Pol III*-ß are indeed highly processive, and replicate an average of 86.5 kb of DNA in 1 binding event some replisomes are processive for up to 300 kb.
