Method 
Stereological Methods: The volumes of the reference spaces were estimated from: V=t*a(p)*(sum of P) where t is the average thickness of the cerebellar slabs (in this case 4.1 mm), a(p) the area associated with each point of the testgrid (16 mm2 for the vermis and the anterior lobe and 81 mm2 for the posterior lobe), and P is the total number of points hitting the volume in question.
