Volume of cerebellum

Value 124.8 cm^3
Organism Human Homo sapiens
Reference Andersen BB, Gundersen HJ, Pakkenberg B. Aging of the human cerebellum: a stereological study. J Comp Neurol. 2003 Nov 17466(3):356-65.PubMed ID14556293
Method Stereological Methods: The volumes of the reference spaces were estimated from: V=t*a(p)*(sum of P) where t is the average thickness of the cerebellar slabs (in this case 4.1 mm), a(p) the area associated with each point of the test-grid (16 mm2 for the vermis and the anterior lobe and 81 mm2 for the posterior lobe), and P is the total number of points hitting the volume in question.
Comments Cerebella from 19 normal Caucasian males, ages 19-84 years, were studied
