Comments When smoked, the 1.5 mg nicotine absorbed from the lung produces venous nicotine peak levels of 20–30 ng/ml. This is equivalent to 130 to 200 nmol/l during the 10-min period of a cigarette smoking (Benowitz et al., 1988 PMID 3391001 and Srivastava et al., 1991 PMID 1745713)
