Comments P.89 left column top paragraph: "Most animal hormones are peptides, these including insulin, growth hormones, neuropeptides, and many others. It was long considered that plants do not have similar regulatory peptides with phytohormonal effect. Such absence was even regarded as a fundamental difference between plants and animals. Now, many relatively short regulatory peptides, named plant peptide hormones, are known [ref 1]. Like animal hormones, the physiological action of peptide phytohormones on plant growth and development is observed at low concentrations of the peptide (10^–7 – 10^–9 M). They control and regulate the whole life cycle of a plant, starting from fertilization and embryonic development until terminal stages of ontogenesis depending on external conditions."
