Comments P.503 right column bottom paragraph: "Like at other CNS (central nervous system) loci, it is now clear that electrical coupling through gap junctions is ubiquitous in the vertebrate retina. Gap junctions and their subunit connexin proteins are not only widely distributed in both synaptic layers, but converging evidence suggests that they are also expressed by most of the ∼60 subtypes of retinal neurons."
