Physiologically relevant concentrations of oxygen

Range 2% O2 - 21% O2
Organism Unspecified

Comments P.797 left column bottom paragraph: "Not only is a CCM [CO2-concentrating mechanism] induced when CO2 is limiting, but the photorespiratory pathway also changes. CO2 is concentrated at the site of Rubisco, but the photorespiratory pathway is not completely inhibited (Ramazanov and Cardenas 1991), even though varying the O2 concentration over physiologically relevant concentrations (2%–21% O2) has no reported effect on photosynthetic O2 evolution in C. reinhardtii (Berry et al. 1976: Spalding and Ogren 1982) or in Chlorella kessleri (Bozzo et al. 2000)."
