These tRFs are 13–26 nt long, comprise fully 40% of the non-miRNA sequences in this size range, and derive from one of three precise regions of the tRNA: the 5′ end of mature tRNA, the 3′ end of the mature tRNA ending in the CCA sequence, or the 3′ trailer sequence beginning immediately after the 3′ end of the tRNA."
