Comments P.1832 right column top paragraph: "tRNA and rRNA genes are highly transcribed, leading to the production in yeast of ∼3 million tRNAs per generation and 300,000 ribosomes (primary source Waldron and Lacroute 1975), compared with about 60,000 mRNAs (primary source Ares et al. 1999). Because of the energy devoted to tRNA and rRNA transcription, and because of the required coordination of tRNA and ribosome function, tRNA transcription via RNA polymerase III (Pol III) and rRNA transcription via Pol I need to be coordinated and regulated in response to cellular nutrient availability and other environmental information."
