Comments Abstract: "In plants, there are over 40 cell types, each with highly specialised functions, and hence potential variations in cell biological processes and cell wall structure." P.76 left column 3rd paragraph: "Plants have approximately 40 cell types and their unique shapes are determined by the functional specialisation of their cell walls. Removal of their walls, irrespective of the cell type, results in morphologically indistinguishable spherical protoplasts. The architecture and composition of cell walls is dynamic and varies depending on the type of organ, tissue and cell within the plant as well as the polysaccharides present (for a summary of wall composition and organisation, see Box 1A-B)."
