P.14340 left column bottom paragraph: "For S. cerevisiae, the preduplication relative K. waltii, which diverged >100 million years ago, allows evaluation of evolutionary rates relative to a single gene descended directly from the ancestral duplicated gene (ref 21) (Fig. 2). S. paradoxus, at present the closest relative of S. cerevisiae with a sequenced genome, with a divergence time of ≈5 million years ago (primary source), provides a suitable postduplication relative (Fig. 2)." |
