Method Primary source abstract: "Plasma virus loads were measured frequently before, during, and after apheresis [Wikipedia: "Apheresis (ἀφαίρεσις (aphairesis, “a taking away”)) is a medical technology in which the blood of a donor or patient is passed through an apparatus that separates out one particular constituent and returns the remainder to the circulation."] in four HIV-1-infected patients, two of whom were also co-infected with HCV [hepatitis C virus]. Rates of virion clearance were derived by non-linear least-square fitting of plasma virus load to a model of viral dynamics."
