Comments p.465 3rd paragraph:"In the turtIe (refs 1, 42) the sensitivity of hair-cell voltage to sinusoidal sound pressure at the eardrum is ~10^3mV/Pa, the broad-band noise level is 1-5mV, and the displacement of the basilar membrane (on which the hair cells sit) per unit pressure is ~85 nm/Pa (primary source). These data determine an equivalent broad-band displacement noise of 8.5-43×10^-11m."
