Method Abstract:"In this study, [investigators] measure the vacuole-cell size scaling trends in budding yeast using optical microscopy and a novel, to [their] knowledge, image analysis algorithm."
Comments p.1988 right column 2nd paragraph:"The discrepancies in absolute size measurements may be reflective of differences in strains. On the other hand, the vacuole-to-cell volume ratios in W303A and BY4741 were 10±0.2% and 7±0.2%, respectively, both of which fall within the range of 3–14% reported for strain DDY904, which shows that these ratios are consistent between these two studies."
