Comments "The rates of rearward actin transport (relative to the substrate and relative to the cell margin) and forward cell movement were determined for 46 cells where the activated CR-actin bar could be followed for at least 30 sec (fig.5). For cells moving at rates ranging from 0.001 to 0.13µm/sec (0.06-8µm/min), the rate of movement of the activated actin bar toward the nucleus with respect to the cell edge was roughly equal to the speed of the cell. That is, the activated bar remained fixed relative to the substrate as the cell moved forward over it, regardless of the rate of cell movement."
