Comments "Table 16-7 illustrates the tremendous daily absorptive accomplishments performed by the small intestine. Each day about 9,500ml of H2O and solutes enter the small intestine. Note that of this 9,500ml, only 2,500ml are ingested from the external environment. The remaining 7,000ml (7 liters) of fluid consist of digestive juices that are essentially derived from plasma."
