Comments "When considering how cells control their morphology and yet maintain the continuous covering of the plasma membrane, it is clear that the membrane must be flexible and dynamic. Previous measurements indicate that the amount of membrane endocytosed every hour is equivalent to the area of the cell plasma membrane, which is an endocytosis rate of about 1µm^2/sec for a normal fibroblast (surface area of about 3600µm^2) (primary source)."
