Comments "Partition coefficients between n-decane, l-hexadecene or 1,9-decadiene and water at 25°C are presented in Table 1. The apparent partition coefficients (K[app] = C[hc]/C[w] where C[hc] and C[w] are, respectively, the molar concentrations of solute in the hydrocarbon solvent and in water) of the carboxylic acids examined in this study were found to vary with solute concentration as shown in Fig. 1 for the partitioning of benzoic acid, a-naphthoic acid, and 9-anthroic acid between decane and water."
