"In the mouse colon there is no evidence that any variation in TC occurs at all: Cells would appear to maintain a constant cell cycle time as they move up the crypt (table 18.11), confirmed by the studies of Chang and Nadler (1975), who compared cell positions 1 - 4 with both the remaining crypt cells, and with proliferating mucous cells: all appeared to cycle at 23.2 hours."
