Comments In eukaryotic cells, very large chromosomal DNAs are efficiently packed within the nucleus. A haploid cell of the budding yeast S. cerevisiae contains 16 chromosomal DNAs with a total length of ~14Mb, equivalent to 5mm (primary source).
