Method	Researchers present an assay called “bleach-chase” for measuring protein half-lives that does not require translation inhibitors, antibodies, or radioactive labeling. YFP fluorophores were bleached by brief (30- to 480-s) pulses of light, resulting in a 10 to 60% decrease in tag fluorescence.
