Method A relative method is proposed to estimate the sensitivity of enzymes to singlet oxygen inactivation by comparison of the initial rate of enzymatic inactivation with the oxidation rate of L-histidine under identical experimental conditions.
Comments SSS=surface-separated-sensitizer. Sensitox II=where substrate oxidations are due to reactions with singlet oxygen generated by energy transfer from the excited-state dye to ground-state oxygen. See notes beneath table
