Comments "Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1)’ is a complex double-stranded DNA virus with a 153-kilobase genome (primary sources). Seven open reading frames have been identified within the genome which are necessary and sufficient to promote the replication in trans of plasmids containing an HSV-1 origin (ark or oris)(3-5)." 152,260 according to abstract of 2nd primary source. Seven open reading frames have been identified within the genome.
