Method Bacteria was cultivated under CO-dependent chemolithotrophic conditions. To assess the effects of CO2 on CO-dependent growth, the initial CO/CO2 ratio was varied and the products formed were determined upon cessation of growth.
Comments Range of doubling times 7.0-33.1 hours. High initial CO/CO2 ratios yielded high doubling times, the fastest growth being observed with initial CO/CO2 ratios of 1 to 5.
