Abstract: "[Researchers] identified 988 TF [transcription factor] genes in C. elegans, and inferred corresponding sets in C. briggsae and C. remanei, containing 995 and 1093 TF genes, respectively." P.10 left column bottom paragraph: "This paper presents the first genome-wide comparative study of TF genes in nematodes and their orthologs in fly (D. melanogaster), mouse (M. musculus), and human (H. sapiens). [Researchers] took both computational and manual curation approaches to compile sets of TF genes in three Caenorhabditid species, leading to the identification of 988 genes in C. elegans, 995 in C. briggsae and 1093 in C. remanei." |
