Method p.201 right column 3rd paragraph:"The plaque-forming ability of phage fEF24C against each Enterococcus faecalis strain was measured as the efficiency of plating (EOP), which was set as 1 for EF24. In addition, the adsorption rate, latent period, and burst size were determined relative to EF24, essentially as described elsewhere (Adams MH (1959)) All incubations for these analyses were carried out in TSB (Tryptic soy broth) medium at 37°C."
Comments p.203 left column 2nd paragraph:"The adsorption rate, latent period, and burst size of phage are thought to be biological parameters for phage infection measurements. Comparing these parameters of fEF24C against EF24, the adsorption rate within 5min was about 90%, the latent period was about 30min, and the burst size was about 110–120. As medians of latent period and burst size in tailed phage are typically 40–60min and 50–100, respectively, fEF24C was regarded as having relatively effective lytic activity (Ackermann HW & DuBow MS (1987))."
