Volume of palisade tissue (mesophyll) cell 7 days after bloom

Value 1200 µm^3
Organism Tree Oak Quercus
Reference Saito T, Soga K, Hoson T, Terashima I. The bulk elastic modulus and the reversible properties of cell walls in developing Quercus leaves. Plant Cell Physiol. 2006 Jun47(6):715-25PubMed ID16571617
Method Light micrographs of leaf transverse and paradermal sections in expanding and mature leaves were studied
Comments The mean volume of a palisade tissue cell (V pal/N pal) was about 1,200 µm3 on around –7 d in these species, then increased to about 3,000 and 2,000 µm^3 by 9 d in Q. glauca and Q. serrata, respectively.
