Comments Within a few minutes of synthesis, free HLA heavy chains (HClO+) become fi2m-associated and gain recognition by mAb specific for the alla2 region in its native conformation (e.g. mAb W6/32). Shortly thereafter, high mannose carrying W6/32-reactive molecules are transported from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the Golgi, where their carbohydrate side chains undergoes oligosaccharide maturation. Mature W6/32 species are detected at the cell surface within 1 h of synthesis
