Method Researchers looked at the binding interactions of fatty acid binding protein 2 (FABP2) and StAR-related lipid transfer (START) domain containing 3 (StarD3). FABP2 is an intracellular intestinal fatty acid binding protein that has been linked to metabolic disorders and cardiovascular disease. Researchers expressed FABP2 as a Glutathione -S-Transferase (GST) fusion (FABP-GST) and confirmed the activity upon binding of OA using an ANS displacement assay (Supporting Information).
