NADPH/NADP ratio under strong illumination and differing CO2 concentrations

Range 1.1-1.8 Unitless
Organism Spinach Spinacia oleracea
Reference Karl-Josef Dietz and Ulrich Heber, Rate-limiting factors in leaf photosynthesis: I. Carbon fluxes in the Calvin cycle , Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 767 (1984) 432-443
Method Spinach was grown in a greenhouse with additional light in an 10 h light/14 h dark period. Leaves were harvested after more than 6 h illumination. Plants were kept in the dark for 60 minutes, and photosynthesis was induced by illumination in air
Comments Ratios and values were measured under different photosynthetic flux situations caused by different CO 2 concentrations in the gas phase at constant high light intensity (200 W.*m- 2 ). Low value for highest CO 2 concentration (=2750 ul/liter). High value for lowest CO 2 concentration (=50 ul/liter).
