Comments Abstract: "The average lipid content per egg was 113µg, 31.6µg of which was phospholipid." P.581 left column bottom paragraph: "In Bufo arenarum, Barassi and Bagan (ref 4) found that phospholipids comprised 43% of the total lipids. If the average phospholipid is 4% phosphorus by weight, Xenopus contains a similar amount of 28% phospholipid. The total amount of lipid. however, was lower in Xenopus, possibly reflecting a smaller egg. Barassi and Bagan found an average of 178µg total lipid, and 57.7µg phospholipid per egg, while [investigators] found 113µg total and 31.6µg phospholipid."
