Concentration of dissolved carbon dioxide in surface ocean

Range ~10 μM
Organism Biosphere
Reference aquatic photosynthesis, Falkowski and Raven, 2nd ed. 2007, Princeton University Press p.158 2nd paragraph
Comments P.158 2nd paragraph: "In the surface ocean, for example, total dissolved inorganic carbon (i.e., TCO2) is approximately 2mM, while [CO2] is only about 10µM. This [CO2] is close to that of the atmosphere (corresponding to approximately 375µmol/mol total gas) so that there is approximately a 50-fold higher concentration of dissolved inorganic carbon in the ocean than of CO2 in the atmosphere [footnote 2] (table 5.1)."
