P.1 left column bottom paragraph: "The coral reef sponge Theonella swinhoei harbors a dense consortium of associated-bacteria, which occupy up to 40% of its body volume (primary sources), reaching up to 10^10 bacteria/ml sponge (BNID 113272). T. swinhoei is common in the Indo-Pacific Ocean and its extension, the Red Sea (Ilan et al., 2004). Some of the bacteria inhabiting T. swinhoei are photosynthetic while others are heterotrophic. Most of the bacteria are unicellular but there are also filamentous bacteria (Entotheonella sp. Magnino et al., 1999, Hentschel et al., 2002, Schmitt et al., 2012)." |
