Method P.885 left column bottom paragraph: "Human ES cells exhibit an abbreviated cell cycle: To characterize the proliferative properties of human ES cells, [invesdtigators] initially examined their cell cycle distribution. [They] subjected asynchronous, actively proliferating H1 and H9 human ES cells to FACS [Fluorescence-activated cell sorting] analysis. Cultures were stained for Oct-4 to identify human ES cells and to distinguish them from mouse support cells."
Comments P.885 left column bottom paragraph: "FACS analysis for DNA content showed 65.5 ± 0.8% of cells reside in S phase, 19 ± 0.6% in G0/G1 and 15.5 ± 0.3% in G2/M phase, respectively (Fig. 2A). The large fraction of cells in S phase is consistent with the percentage of cells exhibiting BrdU incorporation following pulse labeling (64.5 ± 1.3% Fig. 2B).""
