Using the almost pointlike observation volume of a fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) instrument, Politz et al. (primary source 13) showed that mRNP particles can move in cell nuclei almost as fast as in aqueous solution, with diffusion coefficients up to 10 µm^2/s (primary sources 13,14).
