The intracellular PPi concentration was the same (1.5
nmol/mg [dry weight] or about 0.5 mM) in the wild-type
strain E. coli K-12 and in mutant strains JP5 and JM36,
although the PPase levels in the mutant strains were 15 and
150%, respectively, of those of the wild type. |
