Comments P.287 right column bottom paragraph: "Although the total concentrations of Mg2+ (Lusk et aE., 1968 Kuhn et al.. 1983 Kuhn & Kellenberger, 1985) and putrescine2+ (Munro et al., 1972 Gunther & Peter, 1979) can be significant, the free concentration of cytoplasmic Mg2+ has been estimated to be no more than 2 to 3 mM (primary source) corresponding to less than 0.01 µmol of free Mg2+/mg dry cell weight." Note-primary source abstract gives free magnesium level of 1 to 2 mM.
