Comments In E. coli, s32 is synthesized at a basal level at all temperatures, but its cellular concentration remains low as a result of rapid proteolysis by FtsH, assisted by the DnaK and GroESL chaperone systems, leading to a s32 halflife of ~ 1 min (primary source).
