Comments The annual average of daily photon flux measured at the 1% light level (0.415 mol quanta m-2 d-1) is located at approximately (at north pacific gyre) 120-m depth during summer (when surface PAR > 47 mol quanta m-2 d-1) and 90-m depth during winter (when surface PAR < 32 mol quanta m-2 d-1).
