Method Asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation (asymmetrical flow FFF). For details see p.461 right column 1st paragraph link P.462 left column 5th paragraph: "As a control, the plasmid free strain E. coli TG1 was grown using identical conditions [in two 250-mL flasks containing 50 mL LB medium, see beginning of this paragraph in article] and a sample was withdrawn after 5 h and 25 min at OD550=3.3."
Comments P.462 left column 3rd paragraph: "For the growth rate experiments 200 mL Luria–Bertani (LB) medium (1% bacto-tryptone, 0.5% NaCl, and 0.5% yeast extract) in a 1000-mL flask was inoculated with 1 mL of an overnight culture of E. coli TG1. Samples were aseptically withdrawn at an OD550 of 0.11, 10.3, 14.8, and 11.8." See p.464 right column link Number highly depends on growth conditions and stage, see BNID 105779
