Comments P.189 left column 2nd paragraph: "The value of Pbound is used to calculate the rate of mRNA production at an Operon by assuming that the RNAP produces mRNA at 50 nucleotides per second and that the average length of mRNA is 1000 nucleotides. This gives an mRNA production in Moles of mRNA per second for a cell of volume 1.5×10^-15 of 3.6×10^-8M/sec/Operon. Each operon is assumed to be present in copy number Protein production rate is first order in [mRNA] and is assumed to be 15 amino acids per second. This gives a value of protein production of apx0.0001M/sec per Mole of mRNA in an E. Coli sized cell."
